Party of the month? No, Party of the YEAR!Over the recent months, I had the pleasure of planning and executing Shift Digital’s very first summer party, and what better way to throw a party than to have a theme like Coachella? Introducing Shiftchella! After many long months of remote gatherings, it had become very obvious that meeting people on other teams could be challenging so we decided to bring everyone together, far and wide, for the ULTIMATE company outing.At Shiftchella, we celebrated Shift Digital and our love for the company on a perfect 80-degree June day. Detroit’s riverfront was the party’s backdrop while we created our very own music festival vibes. Hosting vendors from all over Metro Detroit, we welcomed Balloon Hype arches and fantasy flowers, Niche Hitche’s whimsically beautiful floral centerpieces, and even watched a 20-foot sky dancer and professionally trained ring dancer tear up the floor with their amazing moves.However, the fun did not stop there. As employees of Shift came flooding into the party, they were greeted with festival wristbands and a Cosmopolitan in the form of a giant juice pouch. What says let’s get this party started more than that? As the day went on, we enjoyed multiple forms of entertainment, such as our fashion illustrator capturing everyone’s perfectly curated outfits as they walked by. If that didn’t interest you, we had a makeup artist bedazzling people in face jewels and body tattoos to really put everyone in the festival mood. Eventually, the day flew by, and by 6PM, the dance floor was bursting at the seams with all types of music mash-ups and dance competitions… and did I mention the beignets that flew off the platters faster than you could blink?!Overall, Shiftchella was a ball, but more importantly, the perfect way for us to come together as a company and finally have some time to let loose with one another.
